Baked Penne

Ingredients
  

For the Penne Sauce

  • 4 C tomato sauce
  • 2 C alfredo sauce
  • ½ C ricotta cheese
  • ¼ C mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 3 T Fontina cheese shredded
  • 1 t garlic pepper seasoning
  • ½ t garlic powder

For the Penne Topping

  • 3 C mozzarella cheese shredded
  • ½ C Italian breadcrumbs
  • 3 T romano cheese grated
  • 3 T parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 T fresh garlic chopped
  • 3 T vegetable oil
  • 3 T fresh flat-leaf Italian parsley chopped

Remaining Ingredients

  • 1 lb dry ziti pasta
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded

Instructions
 

For the penne sauce

  • Combining all ingredients; cover and refrigerate until ready to use.

For the penne topping

  • Whisk together the first four ingredients. Add the garlic, oil, and parsley and mix until thoroughly blended. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.

Remaining Ingredients

  • Preheat oven to 375.° Spray a 13-by-9-inch baking dish with non-stick spray. Pour ½ cup of sauce into the prepared dish. Prepare the pasta according to package directions. Mix hot pasta and sauce thoroughly; pour into the baking dish. Spread 1 cup of shredded mozzarella over the pasta and sauce mixture. Top the mozzarella with the prepared penne topping, spreading evenly.
  • Place pan on center oven rack and bake until top is golden brown and cheese is bubbling, about 30 to 40 minutes.
