Baked Penne
Ingredients
For the Penne Sauce
- 4 C tomato sauce
- 2 C alfredo sauce
- ½ C ricotta cheese
- ¼ C mozzarella cheese shredded
- 3 T Fontina cheese shredded
- 1 t garlic pepper seasoning
- ½ t garlic powder
For the Penne Topping
- 3 C mozzarella cheese shredded
- ½ C Italian breadcrumbs
- 3 T romano cheese grated
- 3 T parmesan cheese grated
- 1 T fresh garlic chopped
- 3 T vegetable oil
- 3 T fresh flat-leaf Italian parsley chopped
Remaining Ingredients
- 1 lb dry ziti pasta
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
Instructions
For the penne sauce
- Combining all ingredients; cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
For the penne topping
- Whisk together the first four ingredients. Add the garlic, oil, and parsley and mix until thoroughly blended. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
Remaining Ingredients
- Preheat oven to 375.° Spray a 13-by-9-inch baking dish with non-stick spray. Pour ½ cup of sauce into the prepared dish. Prepare the pasta according to package directions. Mix hot pasta and sauce thoroughly; pour into the baking dish. Spread 1 cup of shredded mozzarella over the pasta and sauce mixture. Top the mozzarella with the prepared penne topping, spreading evenly.
- Place pan on center oven rack and bake until top is golden brown and cheese is bubbling, about 30 to 40 minutes.
